Language Instruction for Newcomers to Canada
The YWCA of Calgary helps newcomers integrate into Canadian culture.
Language Instruction for Newcomers (LINC) at the YWCA of Calgary is fully funded by Citizenship and Immigration Canada and affords immigrants to Canada valuable insights into Canadian culture and the Calgary community while developing the language skills needed for daily life and successful integration.
Classes are offered from pre-beginner to upper intermediate levels at the downtown YWCA of Calgary location as well as at the Chinese Cultural Centre. Learners may study in part-time or full-time classes.
To qualify for this program, learners must have their language assessed and be referred by ILVARC (Immigrant Language and Vocational Assessment Referral Centre).
