About

The YWCA of Calgary is the largest and longest serving women’s organization in Calgary. During our more than 105 year history, we have touched tens of thousands of lives and have continually evolved our programming to meet the changing needs of women in the community. The YWCA offers a continuum of service for women and their families who are struggling with poverty, homelessness, family violence and isolation.

We support our clients in meeting their immediate and most basic needs and then work directly with them to create positive change in their lives. We believe that healthy women and healthy families lead to thriving communities.

All too often, when we think of homelessness in Calgary, there’s a separation between us and them. However, in reality the women making these choices could be your neighbours, friends or family, who are one choice away from living without a roof.

How would you choose between:
Keeping a roof over your head or putting food on the table?
Keeping a roof over your head or leaving an abusive relationship?
Keeping a roof over your head or childcare for your family?

Let’s work together to make our city sensitive and responsive to the needs of women. You can help the YWCA KEEP A ROOF OVER THEIR HEADS®. Register to participate or donate today and make a difference in the lives of homeless women and their children.
